Our little man is 7 months old! Big new from this last month... Andrew has his first tooth coming in (hence the tongue in this picture) ! I must say, Andrew getting his first tooth really makes him seem so much bigger to me. My little baby is not so much a baby anymore. He has really gained more independence this last month as well. Andrew can now sit on his own while playing with toys. He does fall over from time to time, but enjoys being able to play from a new position rather than just laying on the floor. He is also grabbing things all around him! When taking him to a restaurant, we have to make sure all cups, silverware, and plates are out of reach. He can do some major damage if he gets a hold of one of those. So with this new freedom he is also learning a new word - no. Now that he can do so much more, we're having to help him learn the do's and don'ts of this new found freedom. For instance, when he gets up from his nap, we always go over to turn off his small fan. As we do that, he always reaches out to touch this fan. We have to hold his hand and tell him why this is not such a great idea. He always looks at us like "why not?" It's the cutest thing. We say no because we love him and want only what's best for him- a new part of this parenting world we are becoming to understand and apply.
Andrew's eating habits have also increased a lot! He will eat pretty much any baby food in front of him. He is really becoming more curious about our food and watches us like crazy as we put a cup to our mouths. Because he seems so interested in drinking, we began a sippy cup this last month. We found a NUK cup that has worked great! Of course we have to help him hold it correctly, but he does a great job getting some water out of it. Such the big boy! Andrew is continuing to babble like crazy - especially when he holds something in his mouth! He loves to smile and giggle at mommy and daddy. With David being on night shift this last month, mommy has really enjoyed snuggle time with Andrew in the evenings. Its becoming more apparent to me that he will not be this little forever. I am trying to enjoy these precious moments as much as I can. We look forward to Daddy rejoining us at night especially for our bedtime routine. We love reading, praying and singing together as a family. Such sweet memories we will cherish forever!
