My little boy is officially 9 months old! I'm not too sure how long I can use "my little boy" because for some reason, he has seemed so big to me the past few weeks! I guess it started with our visit to the doctor this last week. Andrew had his 9 month check up. We found out he weights 20 lbs (50th-60th percentile) and 30 in. long (90th percentile). In case you read over that too quickly, I have a child in the 90th percentile for height! Who would have thought that?! Andrew was also given the go to eat many soft table foods and since then, he has gone to town! His new favorite foods include avocado, beans (any type), cheerios, pancakes and applesauce. He pretty much wants a bite of anything I am eating!! He is doing so well picking up objects with his fore finger and thumb. Yay for fine motor skills!!
Speaking of motor skills, Andrew still has not found the desire to belly crawl or crawl just yet. He is pro at sitting up while playing with toys, jumping in his jumperoo and sitting in one spot while watching Sesame Street. As you can see, he is just fine being content in one place right now (as many of you are thinking, enjoy that while it lasts!). Andrew has also learned the new world of standing up. He is learning how to pull himself up on furniture and walking toys. Once he's up, he loves it but isn't too sure how to get back down. He mainly does this with the assistance of others. I am thinking my world is about to change!!
Andrew continues to bring a smile to our faces continually! He wakes up in the happiest mood (morning person like his mommy) and makes us laugh with his new language and expressions. He is babbling like crazy "mama mama" and "dada dada" but still not sure who momma and daddy truly are. Andrew has also learned about strangers and tends to want his mommy quite a lot these days! He continues to be connected to his blue blanket and paci. We typically only gets these items when he is napping or in the car. We never leave home without them! Andrew is continuing to sleep very well! He normally goes to bed around 8:30 p.m. and gets up around 7 a.m.. He has a morning nap around 9 or so and an afternoon nap around 2. So proud of him for sleeping so well!
Andrew and I very excited about next month because Daddy has weekends off in April!! Yay!! Normal working hours?! What is that?! We hope to go enjoy many of the fun attractions Nashville has to offer. I can see many zoo visits, park adventures, picnics and new restaurant outings in our future! We have loved watching Andrew grow and look forward to see what God has in store for us next month!
